Mayra Jimenez, LMSW

Hi, my name is Mayra Jimenez and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University.

My interest and experience includes working with teens, adolescents, adults, and the LGBTQ+ community navigating self-esteem challenges, relationship/ family difficulties, body image concerns, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am able to provide therapy services in both English y en Español, and have served families as well. In addition to talk therapy, I am EMDR-trained and incorporate this evidence-based approach when appropriate to help clients process trauma and distressing experiences.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating. It's completely normal to feel nervous, unsure, or even hesitant about opening up to someone new. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly heard from the very beginning. You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk in, we'll make sense of it together.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and gently challenging. I believe healing happens when we feel deeply seen and supported, while also being encouraged to grow beyond patterns that keep us stuck. In our work together, we'll build self-awareness, strengthen your confidence, and develop practical tools to help you navigate relationships and life transitions with more clarity and resilience.

Healing isn't about "fixing" who you are. It's about understanding yourself more fully, processing what you've carried, and learning to move forward with self-trust and courage. I truly believe that the strength you need is already within you, sometimes we just need support to reconnect with it.
