Jay is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years of experience providing psychotherapy and behavioral health services to adolescents and adults in community behavioral health, outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings. His clinical work includes anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, relationship concerns, life transitions, anger management, self-esteem, and other challenges that can interfere with day-to-day functioning and quality of life.
His approach is practical, collaborative, and individualized. Jay draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches while maintaining a person-centered and strengths-based perspective. He works with clients to better understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behavior, develop useful coping strategies, and make changes that are realistic and meaningful in their lives.
Jay believes therapy should feel like a genuine conversation rather than a clinical performance. He values direct communication, humor when appropriate, and creating a space where clients can speak openly without feeling judged or talked down to. His goal is to help clients gain insight, build on their existing strengths, and develop practical ways to navigate challenges with greater confidence and flexibility.
