My name is Joe Shin, and I have over 2 years of direct practice experience as a school-based therapist, social worker in a public school system, and community behavioral health organizations as a child clinician III. This experience has guided me to serve children, adolescents, adults, and their families in a community behavioral health organization.

I graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a major in Sociology and a minor in Asian Languages and Culture. I obtained my Master of Social Work from Arizona State University. I believe that every client’s circumstance and challenge is unique. My expertise includes utilizing techniques such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy Techniques, Role-Playing, Sand Tray Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care & Response.

I have successfully worked with clients challenged with ADHD, anxiety, bullying, depression, disruptive behaviors at school, family challenges, self-esteem issues, self-harm, school academic challenges, and suicidal ideation. I work with my clients and their families to successfully meet their therapy goals and objectives as a team.

My active duty service in the U.S. Army taught me the importance of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage, which still guides my life.  Let’s work together as a team to find solutions!
